Detroit River Fishing Charters
The Detroit River is one of the top river destinations in the world for walleye spanning 28 miles and sharing half of its water with Canada. This waterway connects the excellent multi-species fishery of Lake St. Clair to the world class walleye fishery of Lake Erie.
There is an estimated spawning population of 10 million walleyes entering and exiting the Detroit River with most of this activity occurring from March to May. This unique fishery offers the opportunity to not only catch a lot of fish, but also trophy pre-spawn fish.
During the spawning run in the Detroit River, our main tactic is to jig with plastics on jig heads. This is the preferred method of many anglers as you “feel the thump” of the fish biting with the rod in your hand. A daily Canadian sport fishing license is HIGHLY recommended when booking one of these charters. Purchase a Canadian sport fishing license here.
