Lake Erie is one of the top lake destinations in the world for walleye and touches more states than any other Great Lake. It spans nearly 10,000 square miles and is home to an estimated population of 150 million walleye of legal size.

Many walleyes choose to spawn in the western basin (Michigan waters) including the Detroit River, this spawning activity occurs in the mostly the months of March and April. Much of the water we target in the month of March is located between the Maumee River and the Detroit River, offering an incredible opportunity to catch a lot of trophy fish.

Targeting during the months of March through early April offers the best chance of catching a trophy walleye weighing over 10 pounds and longer than 30 inches. While there are many tactics are used to catch walleye on Lake Erie, but our preferred method is trolling.
